EROPAG is the community of interest which through its members ,reflects and represents
on behalf of, the voice of older people (50+) in the planning and delivery of public services.
Its mission is to inform and advise government, at both Local and Regional, and National level on all issues affecting older people within the region. It is not a campaigning advisory group, but works in partnerships alongside those who have the responsibility to develop policy and practice across the UK. It seeks to promote improved quality of life, social inclusion and greater recognition of the contribution older people make to their communities.
EROPAG activities include: shaping and informing community strategies and older people’s strategies; promoting the ageing agenda within local strategic partnerships and local area agreements; shaping Link-age and the new Link-age plus programmes; and sharing learning and experience with local authorities on meaningful involvement across the UK
EROPAG members are working at a local and regional level to ensure a whole systems approach between independence, well-being and choice, supporting people and the links to the new local area agreement framework.
- Policy development should realise the potential of older people
· Information sharing and the promotion of best practice must be encouraged for the benefit of older people
· Whole systems approaches and overarching strategies must be developed, with older people, which link private, public and voluntary sectors
‘Nothing about us, without us’.
